Xu Jianmin, 1965' Graduate of NUIST, Academician of China Engineering Institute. He was once the dean of China National Meteorology Centre; General Engineer of National Satellite Meteorology Centre and General Engineer of Ground Applied System for “Feng Yun— 2” Static Meteorology Satellite. He was elected as the member of the 10 th Session NPC Environment and Resource Committee. The research group headed by him solved the problem of high precision position for “Feng Yun— 2” Meteorology Satellite Nephogram. He is one of the members of satellite experts in World Meteorology Organization.

Wu Guoxiong , 1966' Graduate of NUIST, Academician of China Science Institute. Li Zaohang , 1978' Graduate of NUIST. Executive Director, Deputy President for Joint-stock Company of Bank of China . He was once Da Lian Branch Manager and President of China Construction Bank. In 1990 he was transferred into Headquarters of China Construction Bank and worked as General Manager in Information Science & Technology Section and International Section. From 1993 to 2000, he was Deputy President in Headquarters of China Construction Bank and was in charge of the work of credit, fund, retailing, liquidation and information science and technology etc. From August, 2004, he has been Executive Director, Deputy President for Joint-stock Company of Bank of China .

Zhu Yunlai , 1981' Graduate of NUIST, is now CEO of China International Financial Corporation. He worked in the well-known American Investment Bank—Morgan Stanley for many years. In 1998, he began to work in the office of China International Financial Corporation ( i.e. Zhong Jin )which is located in Hong Kong . In July, 2004, he was chosen by American Fortune as “ one of the most influential 25 business leaders in Asia ” and was numbered 15. In the marketing process of Overseas' China Life Insurance Company, he acted respectively as Global Coordinator, Global Account Book Administrator in Zhong Jin Corporation, First National City Bank, and Swiss Loan No. 1 Boston and Deutschland Bank. He was honored as “ Top 10 China Creative Talents” in 2004.

Zou Xiaolei , 1981' graduate of NUIST, permanent professor of the Meteorology Dept, Florida State University of, researcher of the National Atmospherical Research Center of the U.S. since 1994, associate professor of the Florida State University since 1994, and permanent professor of the University since 1999. He is the only professor in the field of data assimilation in the U.S.

Lin Zhenjie , 1981' graduate of NUIST, Chief Executive of ESPNSTAR Multimedia Corp Ltd (China), professor of Tasmania University of Australia, senior researcher of the National Weather Center of the Australian National Meteorological Bureau. He built the 20th Century Sports Web in 1999, which quickly became a leading Sports Portal Web in China . ESPNSTAR is a joint venture affiliated to Disney Corp and International News Group. It operates 13 TV channels, specializing in the broadcast of Asian sports events. In 2004, ESPNSTAR, the 20th Sports Web and the Champion Web jointly founded ESPNSTAR Multimedia Corp Ltd ( China ), which specializes in the service of sports portal web, wireless web added-value and Broad Band Video.

Liu Zhengyu , 1981' graduate of NUIST, permanent professor of the Atmosphere and Ocean Science and Environmental Science Dept of the US Wisconsin University (Madison Campus), director of Meteorological Center of the University. He is also a visiting professor (Changjiang Scholar) of the Ocean University of China. He was conferred a PhD by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and finished a postgraduate program in Princeton University .

Best known as the inventor of Forest Canopy Analyzer, which is utilized widely in many countries.

Enormously influential in environmental research by his “Theory of Forest Carbon Sinks in Northern Canada”, this also made him well-known and promoted the environmental policy making in Canada and “Kyoto Protocol”.

许健民 , 1965 届校友。中国工程院院士。曾任中国国家气象中心主任、国家卫星气象中心总工程师兼“风云二号”静止气象卫星地面应用系统总工程师;当选为第十届全国人大环境和资源委员会委员。他领导的研究组解决了“风云二号”气象卫星云图高精度定位的难题。他被世界气象组织聘为卫星专家工作组成员。

刘征宇 , 1981 届校友。美国威斯康辛大学(麦迪逊校区)大气海洋科学与环境科学系终身教授,气候研究中心主任;兼任中国海洋大学讲座教授(长江学者)。美国麻省理工学院博士学位,美国普林斯顿大学博士后。

陈镜明 , 1982 届校友。英国里丁大学哲学博士学位,国际著名地理环境遥感专家,加拿大遥感中心高级研究员,现任多伦多大学教授,加拿大约克大学、渥太华大学客座教授,南京大学长江讲座教授和地球系统科学所学术委员会主任,中国科学院海外评审专家,及中国国务院侨办海外专家顾问团成员。

他最重要的研究成果是发明了森林冠层分析仪,目前已被许多国家采用;而在加拿大北方森林碳汇理论的研究成果更是在环境界产生极大反响,也使他在科学界真正一举成名。对加拿大环境政策以及后来签署“京都协议”产生重要影响。 2000 年荣获加拿大航天航空协会最高荣誉奖 Alouette 奖。 1998 、 2001 年两度获联邦政府自然资源部地学界突出贡献奖, 2000 年获安大略省长杰出科研奖。 2004 被选为加拿大高级科研主席(国家级荣誉,享受联邦政府津贴)。 SCI 收录论文 85 篇,被引用达到 1800 多次。

潘剑翔 , 1981 届校友。总参气象水文中心高级工程师。曾任总参气象水文中心副主任、总工程师等职,参与或组织参与了上百次重要任务的气象保障,特别在建国 50 周年国庆首都阅兵和我国载人航天工程“神舟一号”、“神舟六号”飞行任务的气象水文保障中,担任气象水文保障专家组组长,为军委、总部首长和各有关部门提供了准确的长、中、短期天气预报,为任务的顺利完成做出了贡献。先后获军队科技进步一等奖 6 项、二等奖 3 项,曾荣立二等功 1 次,三等功 2 次。 1999 年被评为总参优秀科技干部, 2000 年享受政府特殊津贴, 2002 年获总参“人梯奖”, 2004 年被国家人事部、国防科工委、总装备部授予“中国载人航天工程突出贡献者” , 2005 年1 月13 日 ,由中央军委胡锦涛主席签发命令,荣立一等功一次。

卞林根 , 1978 届校友。中国气象科学研究院副院长,学术委员会副主任 , 研究员,中国气象学会理事 , 博士生导师。 11 次赴南北极进行度夏或越冬考察, 3 次赴青藏高原考察。 1986 年以来,先后在国内外刊物上发表学术论文 40 余篇。论文中被 SCI 收录的有 12 篇。 1985-1990 年主持完成了“南极气象考察与研究”,获 1992 国家气象局气象科技进步二等奖,“ 85 ” 期间负责完成了南极在全球变化中作用的专题,获 1996 年度国家海洋局海洋科技进步特等奖。 1997-1999 年主持完成了国家攀登 -B 项目中的 “青藏高原昌都地区大气边界层观测与研究”专题。 2001 年主持完成国家北极科学考察与研究项目“北极海冰与大气相互作用”专题。 2002 年获国家海洋局科技成果创新一等奖 ,2003 年 主持 “十五”国家公益基础性研究项目中的“南极地全的响应和反馈作用研究”中的专题。 2004 和 2005 年分获国家海洋局科技成果创新特等奖。

覃国振 , 1966 届校友。湖南岳阳市气象局工程师、党的十三大代表、全国“五一”劳动奖章获得者、 1989 年国家气象局授予“双文明建设劳动模范”称号。
