Introduction to Technical College for Professional Training
On July 5 th , 1997, Technical College for Professional Training (TCPT) attached to Nanjing College of Meteorology was officially established. It aims at training talents required by economical development who are furnished with solid theoretical knowledge, professional knowledge and skills, practical competence, favorable work ethics and a heightened awareness of offering service.
In 1999, TCPT started to recruit students.
In 1999, TCPT began to offer courses for professional training.
In 2000, TCPT launched the education for undergraduates.
In 2004, undergraduate course remained as the single form of education, while professional training ceased to be offered.
At present, TCPT offers 7 specialties of different courses to over 1500 students in campus.
The following courses are accessible to undergraduate applicants: Computer Science and Technology, Electronic Information Engineering, Accounting, Information Management and Information System, Information Engineering, Automatization, Human Resources, Network Engineering.
The administrative office of TCPT is mainly concerned with the work stated below.
Responsible for both administration and management of teaching and learning, the administrative office of TCPT takes charge of the publicizing and implementing of relevant national policies and regulations set by the university, checking as well whether they are positively implemented. It sees to the publicizing of TCPT and the recruiting of students for this college. It designs the training plans and teaching plans, works out outlines for teaching followed by testifying and revision, and monitors the daily teaching processes and the effects. Besides, the office takes control of the management of students' status, supervises the examinations, organizes and oversees students' internship and writing of thesis papers. It also validates and prints students' certificates for graduation and bachelor's degree. Apart from that, the office presides over the cultivation of students' ideologies, checks their presence in daily learning and the observance of rules in examinations, and organizes activities for cultural appreciation and entertainments. Senior students' job hunting is also within the range of concern.
