Mathematics department originated from the Mathematics teaching section and was founded in 1999. In 1977 it enrolled its first group of under-graduates. From 1993-2003 the department had a two-year program in numerical mathematics and application software. Later the program was developed into a four-year undergraduate program in 1995 and then changed the name to Information and Computer Science in 1998.The statistics major started enrolment in 2001. Since 2001, the department has been qualified to offer a master degree programs. The mathematics and applied mathematics begin its under-graduates education program in 2002.
